General guideline based on published acrylic aquarium design practice: panels treated as plates supported on all four edges under hydrostatic load, with a working stress of 1,000 psi (roughly a 10:1 safety factor against acrylic’s ultimate strength). Assumes cell-cast acrylic (never extruded for tanks), solvent-welded joints on all edges, a braced/supported top perimeter, and a bottom panel fully supported by the stand.
